₹1,000 is a workable budget for a gift she will actually use, as long as you choose the kind of thing first. Four categories have plenty of well-rated listings at this price: jewellery sets, handbags, perfumes and watches. Start with the one closest to what she already wears or carries.
Jewellery sets
A necklace with matching earrings is the classic festive gift, and under ₹1,000 there is a large choice.
At this price the jewellery is costume jewellery: alloy or brass with gold-tone or silver-tone plating. Check two things on the product page. One is the material, which should be stated in the details. The other is the list of pieces. Some listings photograph a necklace, earrings and a maang tikka together and sell fewer pieces than the photo shows.
Handbags
Check the dimensions. Product photos have no sense of scale, and a bag that looks like a tote can turn out to be a small sling. The size in centimetres is in the product details. Low-star reviews are worth reading here too, because they are where buyers mention weak straps and zips.
Perfume
If she already has a favourite, a second bottle of the same one is a better gift than a guess. If you are choosing something new, compare the volume as well as the price, because bottle sizes vary a lot. Many fragrance listings cannot be returned once opened.
Watches
Look at the strap material and the dial size, and see whether the listing mentions a warranty and who provides it.
Before you order
- Delivery date. Diwali is on 8 November 2026. Go by the delivery date shown for your pin code.
- Returns. If the item can be returned, order early enough to use that if you need to.
- The price, not the badge. A large percentage off compares with a list price the seller chose. Judge the selling price itself. More in Is That Deal Actually a Deal?.
